Skated on Wednesday and today, just working on the same things. Pre-juvenile moves (minus back 3-s), scratch spin, backspin, camel, sit spin, single jumps with the exception of lutz and axel... I did quite a bit of jumping Wednesday, trying to enter the jumps with slightly more speed than I usually do (but not fast enough to make me totally panic). Toe-loops felt better, I think they were higher. Flip still freaks me out, but I start landing it after 2-3 two-footed attempts. I guess I need to do a million more flips before they feel totally comfortable, LOL. No jumping (other than several flips) today - my knees needed a rest.
Spins: came close to some face-plants on camel, but today had 2 attempts that felt not bad - only about 1.5-2 or so revolutions each, but the tracing of one of them actually resembled a proper spin. My problem with the camel is that I don't "get" the entry yet - I either rush or don't get down enough, or both. Backspins are also very very slowly improving, I'm getting closer to actually feeling like I'm spinning. Sit spins... can't work on them much due to knee problems, so for now my limit is 2 tries per session. I hope to increase that to 3 tries the week after next, then to 4-5 after several more weeks.
At the end of the session I managed to talk one adult skater into doing back XOs with me as fast as we can that cover the whole ice. She gave up after several rounds while I kept going at least twice as long as she did, and would have for another minute or two if the session wouldn't have been over. I LOVE going as fast as I can! When doing these BXOs, I don't concentrate much on technique, but try to increase the stamina, and just plain enjoy the speed. FUN!!!
